Technical cooperation in Abidjan: Training in France for two AMUGA agents on data management and geomatics

As part of the Abidjan FEXTE (CODATU/AMUGA/Agence Française de Développement), two agents from the Greater Abidjan Urban Mobility Authority (AMUGA) are currently in France for a 10-day immersive training course on geomatics applied to urban mobility and data management.

The objective is to accelerate AMUGA’s capacity building to take full advantage of geospatial data in the management of mobility in Greater Abidjan. This activity combines:

  • Advanced sessions on geomatics and tools, delivered by researchers from the PRODIG laboratory (University of Paris 1 – Campus Condorcet), with applied exercises using databases from Abidjan;
  • Technical exchanges with teams from the Île-de-France Mobilités organising authority to discover the data commonly used by the organising authority and the practical uses of the tools in terms of mobility observatories, planning and forecasting, supply management and passenger information.

We would like to thank the teams at PRODIG and Île-de-France Mobilités (Prospective Studies and Service Provision and Marketing Departments) for their warm welcome, their teaching and for sharing their experiences.
