Since its launch in December 2015 at COP21, the MobiliseYourCity Partnership has become the leading global partnership for sustainable urban mobility planning, policy development and increased investment for sustainable transport in developing and emerging economies.
CODATU is a founding member of the MobiliseYourCity Partnership and has five staff members at the MobiliseYourCity Global Secretariat in Brussels. CODATU is also one of the implementing partners of the partnership. In this capacity, CODATU is particularly involved in projects in Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon and Senegal.
Other implementing partners of MobiliseYourCity are The French Development Agency (AFD) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), which work with cities and countries around the world to develop scalable solutions to improve mobility in complex environments.
Today, the partnership has 70 member cities representing a total population of over 126 million in 32 countries. Thanks to generous contributions from the European Union (EU), the French Development Agency (AFD), the French Ministry for Ecological Transition (MTE), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Protection, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), and the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM)In February 2023, the Partnership will have mobilized more than €40 million in grants to support around half of its cities and member countries, which has already made it possible to mobilize additional loans for concrete sustainable urban mobility projects. With this investment, MobiliseYourCity hopes that an additional 9 million people will have access to public transport services.
The partnership was founded by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME), the French Development Agency (AFD), CODATU, the Center of Studies and Expertise on Risks, Environment, Mobility and Development (Cerema) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). MobiliseYourCity is an international transport initiative under the UN Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action and is a member of the SuM4All Consortium.

– Implementation support: MobiliseYourCity empowers members to link planning and implementation for green and fair mobility.
