Technical cooperation in Abidjan: launch of the roadmap for the professionalisation and integration of paratransit in Greater Abidjan

As part of the technical cooperation led by CODATU within AMUGA, with financial support from AFD and the French Treasury, a mission to develop an operational roadmap for the professionalisation and integration of paratransit in Greater Abidjan has been launched.

The Transitec–Transamo-GLI consortium has been commissioned to carry out this mission, which is scheduled to last 10 months.

During the week of 19 May, the team of consultants, represented by Julien Allaire, was in Abidjan to launch the fieldwork. This initial mission provided an opportunity to take stock of the initiatives already underway in the area and to meet with the municipalities, transport associations and mobility working groups of the 19 municipalities. The aim of these discussions was to gather the expectations and concerns of local stakeholders and to present the objectives of the roadmap to them.

The week ended with a meeting with the Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, to gather his views on the approach taken.
