Next CODATU Conference to be held in Hyderabad (India) in 2017 !

On
May 25th, 2016, CODATU organized its General Assembly at the National Assembly. On this occasion, CODATU signed an agreement with the Indian Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) to organize the next CODATU Conference XVII in Hyderabad (India), from 7 to 10 November 2017, as a joint event with the 10th National Conference “Urban Mobility India” (UMI) which is held every year. Ms. Kanika Kalra, Urban Transport Expert at the Institute of Urban Transport (IUT), Delhi, was present and introduced the UMI Conference to all members. The Institute of Urban Transport (IUT) has a special link with CODATU, as it was created in 1997, further to the CODATU VII Conference in Delhi in 1996.

The General Assembly also marked the beginning of the scientific process of CODATU XVII Conference, in the presence of the two co-chairs of the Scientific Committee:

  • Professor Rosário Macário, teacher at the Instituto Superior Technico (Main School of Engineering) at the Lisbon Technical University (Portugal) and Director in TIS.PT – Transport, Innovation and Systems, an international consultancy company based in Lisbon. She is an Auditor for Quality Management Systems, Member of the Steering and Scientific Committees of the “WCTRS – World Conference on Transportation Research Society”, member of the Council of the AET – Association for European Transport” and founder and Vice-President of the international association “ELITE – European Logistics, Infrastructure and Transport Expertise Network”.
  • Professor H.M Shivanand Swamy : Indian economist and urban planner by training, with over 30 years of experience in teaching, research and professional consultancy. Prof. Swamy is one of the principal resource persons on urban and transport issues for the State of Gujarat. As an administrator of CEPT University (Ahmedabad, India), Prof. Swamy was instrumental in the efforts that went into upgrading CEPT from an autonomous institution to that of a University.
