Kick-off of the second International Conference on Mobility and Climate Abidjan 2026

On Thursday, 5 June 2025, on the occasion of the signing of the partnership agreement between Codatu, Climate Chance and AMUGA (under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport of Côte d’Ivoire) for the organisation of the ‘Second International Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Climate’ #CIMDC Abidjan 2026, scheduled to take place in Abidjan in October 2026, a press conference was held in Abidjan.

Romain Kouakou, Managing Director of AMUGA, and Thibault de Lambert, Secretary General of Codatu, sign the agreement in the presence of Cone Dioman, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Transport of Côte d’Ivoire.

This conference will focus in particular on the main challenges of climate change mitigation and adaptation in cities, with sustainable mobility and urban planning as the common thread.

The issues and impacts of the topics addressed during the International Conference will concern urban and peri-urban populations. They will cover a wide range of topics such as mobility, road safety, roads and infrastructure, training, gender, urban planning, housing, sustainable development, financing, trade and industry, etc.

The Abidjan 2026 International Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Climate Change is expected to welcome 1,500 participants from over 40 countries!

The Codatu team was received by eight ministries during its mission to Abidjan. It sensed great enthusiasm and a strong desire on the part of the Ivorian institutions to share this fabulous adventure together!
