CODATU in Côte d’Ivoire: Mission on the modernisation and professionalisation of paratransit in Greater Abidjan

As part of the technical cooperation led by CODATU within the AMUGA – Urban Mobility Authority in Greater Abidjan, with financial support from the AFD – Agence Française de Développement and the French Treasury, work has begun on developing an operational roadmap for the professionalisation and integration of paratransit in Greater Abidjan.

This week, starting on 8 December 2025, consultants from TRANSITEC, the consortium’s representative, conducted a field mission to share the initial results of the assessment, particularly those from the surveys carried out.

Several workshops brought together all the local stakeholders, transport operators, municipalities and boat operators’ organisations to discuss the current organisation of the sector and their expectations for its development.

The discussions were particularly fruitful and demonstrated the strong motivation of the stakeholders to engage in a gradual and supported process of modernisation and integration of paratransit in Greater Abidjan.
