CODATU in Côte d’Ivoire [FEXTE] – Workshop on contracts and performance monitoring for transport operators

As part of the technical cooperation carried out by CODATU within AMUGA (Autorité de la Mobilité Urbaine du Grand Abidjan – Greater Abidjan Urban Mobility Authority), with financial support from AFD and the French Treasury, CODATU led a three-day workshop on contracts and performance monitoring for transport operators this week with AMUGA teams.
The aim of this workshop was to highlight the challenges associated with operating contracts and the role of the AOMU, emphasising the importance of a strong partnership and balanced contracts between the organising authority and operators. It was also an opportunity to discuss operator monitoring, addressing the most relevant performance indicators and different operational monitoring methods, based on numerous international examples, particularly in Morocco, France and Italy.

The particularly fruitful discussions led to the emergence of the first actions and tools needed to structure effective monitoring for the direct benefit of users.

Many thanks to the two experts for the quality of their contributions: Raymond Deschamps, former Managing Director of SYTRAL and volunteer at CODATU, who shared his perspective from the organising authority’s point of view, and Franck-Olivier Rossignolle, former International Financial and Operations Director at Transdev and now President of the Fogarove consulting firm, who shared his perspective from the operator’s point of view on contracts and operational monitoring.
Finally, thank you to the AMUGA teams for their commitment and motivation during these three days — as always.
