Codatu Business Club met in Paris: focus on the International Conference in Abidjan in 2026 and new international perspectives

Paris, 16 October 2025 — Around twenty major companies in the mobility sector and institutions such as the French Development Agency, the European Commission and MEDEF International joined forces with the Codatu team and its President François Durovray for a rich and forward-looking exchange on the association’s major upcoming projects. The meeting provided an opportunity to review preparations for the International Conference in Abidjan in 2026 (#CIMDC2026), while also discussing institutional cooperation and new international economic opportunities for our members.

Abidjan 2026: an ambitious conference for a concrete action plan
Scheduled for 19-22 October 2026 (19 October: scientific conference, 20-21 October: #CIMDC2026 International Conference, 22 October: technical visits and various events organised by our partners), the #CIMDC2026 International Conference promises to be a major event focusing on sustainable mobility and climate change. The members of the Business Club discussed the concept, ambitions and programme of the conference, as well as the role of businesses in the sessions and activities.

The sponsorship grid was presented to invite our partners to support the conference, enabling private actors to associate themselves with the event and promote their initiatives. At the same time, the presentation of the 1st African Public Transport / Paratransit Fair aroused great interest among participants, particularly representatives of the French Development Agency, both for the local innovations and for the everyday mobility practices that will be highlighted.

CODATU : de nouvelles perspectives d’affaires à l’international
The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional cooperation and explore new economic opportunities.
Giorgia FAVERO, representative of the European Commission, presented the process of involving French companies in the Global Gateway. Discussions with the European Commission (DG INTPA) confirmed the desire to further mobilise the private sector and promote joint initiatives.

Yasmine Sawan, representative of MEDEF International, presented the prospects for collaboration between Codatu and MEDEFI. In particular, a project is currently being developed to organise a joint event in March 2026, during Transforming Transportation in Washington.

At the same time, the Codatu team discussed new business opportunities in several international markets, notably in the Dominican Republic and Benin.
These discussions continued with the sustainable urban mobility plans presented by the MobiliseYourCity secretariat, offering new opportunities for partnerships and concrete projects for companies committed to the transition to more sustainable cities.

The strong mobilisation of our private partners at the Business Club clearly illustrates the growing interest of companies and institutions in Codatu.
