Climate Chance

CLIMATE CHANCE, CODATU's partner in climate-related advocacy and capacity building.

Since 2015, the Climate Chance Association has been participating in the mobilisation in the fight against climate change. Created in the wake of the Climate and Territories Summit in Lyon, which brought together climate actors ahead of COP 21, Climate Chance is the only international association seeking to federate all non-state actors recognised by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – UNFCCC* (the 9 groups of actors: local authorities, businesses, NGOs, trade unions, the scientific community, representatives of the agricultural world, youth, indigenous peoples and women) to bring out common priorities and proposals, and to strengthen the dynamics of actors through networking (thematic coalitions, summits, action portal).

The Climate Chance Association supports the central role of territories in climate action and the inseparable link between the climate agenda and the sustainable development goals

The messages conveyed by the Climate Chance Association in its advocacy documents and the major themes addressed in its summits, during the climate agenda events, are collectively discussed, always with the concern of consensus building, in a steering committee where the most representative structures of non-state actors are invited, in particular the focal points of the 9 major groups recognised by the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
