Innovation starts with users

Digital ticketing, ride-sharing apps, mobile payments, real-time passenger information, Mobility as a Service (MaaS)… Digital solutions are opening up new opportunities to improve the way people move around cities.
But downloading an app does not mean it will be used. Launching a platform does not guarantee adoption. Technology alone does not improve mobility.
The success of digital mobility solutions depends first and foremost on their adoption by citizens.
🔹 How can we design digital mobility services that truly respond to users’ needs?
🔹 How can we build trust and encourage the adoption of digital tools in public transport?
🔹 How can digital innovation become a driver of more accessible, efficient and inclusive mobility?
Across many African cities, where the use of mobile technologies is growing rapidly and mobility needs continue to evolve, these questions are more relevant than ever.
They will be at the heart of the discussions during the International Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Climate (#CIMDC2026), co-organised by Codatu, Climate Chance and AMUGA, taking place in Abidjan from 19 to 22 October 2026.
📅 19–22 October 2026
