Codatu is mobilising all its forces to prepare for the 2026 Conference in Abidjan!

Since the end of 2025, there has been palpable excitement within the network: everyone is working hard to ensure the success of the next Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Climate (CIMDC), scheduled for 20-21 October 2026, with activities beginning on the 19th and continuing until the 22nd. This event, co-organised with AMUGA and the Climate Chance Association, will be held at the Sofitel Ivoire Abidjan hotel.
Since the start of the 2025 academic year, the Strategic Steering Committee (SSC) has been meeting to allow everyone to participate in the development of the programme. This has resulted in the definition of the main themes that will structure our work: integration of mobility and urban planning, governance, financing and sustainability, sustainable mobility and climate, technological and social innovations, preparation of the Abidjan Declaration, and sharing of experiences between South America and Africa.
Many members are already actively participating in the technical working groups set up by the SSC. The rich discussions promise ambitious thematic workshops: around 35 will be offered during the two main days of the CIMDC.
The challenge? To highlight South-South exchanges, promote the role of paratransit in the new mobility systems of large cities in the South, analyse governance, the impact of electromobility and digital solutions in public policies, and improve transport services for citizens.
The Codatu and Climate Chance delegations, which visited Abidjan three times in 2025, returned enthusiastic, reassured by the unwavering commitment of the Ivorian authorities and AMUGA, both financially and politically, to support the Conference.
During the Codatu Business Clubs, the main member companies quickly committed themselves as sponsors. Their financial support is crucial in enabling our teams to cover the costs of this major international event, which aims to bring together 1,500 participants from more than 40 countries over the course of a week.
An African Paratransit Fair will be held during the Conference from 20 to 21 October. It will bring together vehicle manufacturers from around the world, promoters of digital solutions, driving training establishments, and more.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to these companies, whose commitment and financial support are essential to the success of the Conference. Their valuable support enables us to raise the profile of this international event and strengthen the impact of our actions in favour of sustainable and inclusive mobility.
