Codatu in Côte d’Ivoire: participation in the Franco-Ivorian Forum on Urban Mobility

As part of the Franco-Ivorian Forum on Urban Mobility, organised by Business France in collaboration with the European Union (EU) and chaired by the Ivorian Ministry of Transport, Codatu was pleased to lead Panel 3 on ‘Challenges for better interoperability and intermodality of mobility in Abidjan’.

The objective was to show how coordination between actors, systems and infrastructure is essential to building an efficient multimodal network for users, to highlight ongoing projects in Greater Abidjan and to identify project opportunities for companies and technical partners.

The panel reiterated that the development of an integrated transport system in Abidjan depends on:
✅coordination between stakeholders to ensure interconnected infrastructure and systems;
✅taking multimodal journeys into account in the operation of future heavy modes of transport;
✅integrating small-scale operators into the transport network;
✅identifying technical and economic partnerships to be initiated immediately.
Thank you to the speakers for the rich discussions: Mr Romain KOUAKOU, Director General of AMUGA, Mr Belkassim BAMBA, Director of Studies and Quality at SOTRA, Mr Ibrahim DIABY, Director General of the High Council of Road Transport Employers, Mr Paulin Murhula, Director General of Keolis Côte d’Ivoire, and Mr Alain Descamps, President of STAR.

The forum also enabled the Ivorian authorities to present project prospects for the entire country, discuss sector financing issues with the participation of donors and investment banks, and allowed companies to present their solutions and engage in direct dialogue with Ivorian institutions and international stakeholders during B2B meetings.
