CODATU gets involved in Movin'on Summit (organized by Michelin)

For the first time, CODATU participated in Movin'on Summit, an event yearly organized by Michelin to gather peolple working in the building sector, the energy sector, researchers, decision-makers, artists and the community to discuss about sustainable urban mobility. CODATU was invited by Michelin to lead a collaborative workshop on good pratices in the multimodality field (using the example of the new Kochi subway system). This workshop was co-organised with Sytral, Grand Lyon and the city council of Amaravati (India).
Two weeks ago, the board of MobiliseYourCity met together for the 4th steering Committee to discuss about the next steps of the project : new contributing partners have joined the funding of SUMPs projects (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans) such as Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KFW) or the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Besides, new beneficiairies partners entered as the cities of Ouagadougou, Nairobi, Abidjan or Bouaké.

Three weeks ago, CODATU was in Dakar to conduct an update about a mission of international technical assistance on the future rail system in Dakar (Senegal). The project is supported by CETUD and APIX. CODATU also started to prepare its next Conference [CODATU2020], which will take place in Dakar, where the idea of CODATU was born forty years ago. [Brazil Technical Cooperation] CODATU gets involved in the workshop "Cities of tomorrow"!

One month ago, good pratices on urban mobility and smart city issues have been discussed at the workshop organized by the French Chamber of Commerce in Brazil. Bruno Almeida Maximino, who is working for CODATU at the Brazilian Technical Cooperation, has shown to the audience how the Niteroi's light rail project is progressing. He also talked about the support that CODATU could bring to Brazilian cities thanks to the technical cooperation.
[Peruvian Technical Cooperation] Forum : Are the Peruvian urban transports entering into a new paradigm?

Organized by the Peruvian Technical Cooperation CODATU-CEREMA-French Development Agency (AFD), the aim of this forum was to promote the progress realized in Peru for the paradigm shift concerning mobility issues. The forum capitalized the state and local governments improvements of the introduction of the SIT, the developement of urban planning instruments and the using of digital tools to share these at a national scale.
The year 2017 has been exceptional in the history of CODATU, for several reasons. The turnover is 75% higher compared to 2016, mainly due to new conventions such as theFEXTE Brazil, the support of the Dakar Transport Authority and the launch of MobiliseYourCity and GoSUMPS. Besides, the 17th CODATU Conference in Hyderabad, India, was a remarkable success in parallel with the Urban Mobility India event. It was also a relevant follow up after the remarkable technical cooperation of CODATU with the authorities of Kochi in parallel of the construction of the metro.
How to implement a new integrated system of public transport in Peru?
This document was developed with the aim of capitalizing the main progress and work done through the Technical Cooperation into the urban mobility field in Peru, established between AFD, CODATU, CEREMA and the Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications from February 2016 to August 2018. Thanks to different study cases like Lima-Callao, Arequipa, Trujillo and Cuzco, and from discussions led by the Cooperation, it became possible to publish a document gathering the organizational steps that lead us toward a public transport paradigm shift.
MobiliseYourCity leads a seminar the 27th of june 2018 in Abidjan to discuss about a sustainable transport planning methodology (monitoring, reporting and verification). This seminar will prepare Climate Chance Summit. The aim of the summit is to gather non-state African actors involve in the fight against climate change.
The aim of this summit organized by Cités Unies France and its partners will be to discuss about urban issues such as "How to integrate communities into a growing urbanization trend?
