Topic of the conference :
Decentralized Cooperation for urban transports: experiencing direct cooperation
between local governments worldwide

The goal of the Conference, organized in collaboration with the SYTRAL (the authority organizing the urban public transport of Lyon) and with the support of the local authorities of the Rhone-Alpes region and of Greater Lyon, was to incite local governments and companies of the sector of transport to undertake and develop actions of cooperation in a domain that has become a priority and a fundamental stake in development and in quality of life in cities: urban transports.
If the complexity of the situations was demonstrated through the various lectures presented during the technical sessions, some elements of answers were given particularly during the round table and the scientific conclusions.
About twenty countries were represented and a lot of contacts could be taken with various delegations. These contacts should be at the origin of great partnerships like with Togo, Vietnam, Ethiopia or India.
